UPSC Indian Economics Services IES Previous Question Papers

Indian Economic Service Examination is conducted by union public Service Commission (UPSC). The UPSC IES Exam is organized every year in which there are large number of applicants.  The exam has following paper scheduled-

  1. General English
  2. General Studies
  3. Indian Economic Service

Under Indian Economic Service, there are further 4 papers which are General Economics- I, General Economics- II, General Economics- III, Indian Economics.

Indian Economics Exam Pattern-

  • Total Time Given: 3 Hours
  • Max marks: 200
  • Total Questions: 12

The exam paper is divided into 3 sections-

  1. Section A- Compulsory Part in which only 1 Question is asked
  2. Section B- 7 out of 8 Questions are necessary to be answered
  3. Section C- 2 out of 3 Questions are necessary

The questions that come in this paper are of subjective type. Here, are some sample questions which are being asked in the exam paper in the last years-

Q1: Differentiate Between narrow Banking and Universal banking in Indian Context

Q2: Critically examine State Financiers ad Suggest Alternative Sources of Financing a State Government other than grants and loans from Central Government.

Q3: Comment on various sources of Industrial Financing in India for conductive industrial climate. Suggest Suitable alternative sources for strengthening industrial financing.

In the question Paper, the questions are of different marks which include- 25 marks, 15 marks and 5 marks questions.
