Examination Scheme of RRB:
- For category numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 (CA, TA, ECRC & Goods Guard) merit will be drawn on the basis of CBT 1 & CBT 2.
- For Category Number 5, 6 & 9 (Sr. Clerk Gum Typist, JAA, Sr. Time Keeper) CBT 1 & CBT 2 will be followed by Typing test which is a qualifying nature exam that means marks obtained in typing will not be added in merit.
- For Category Number 7 & 8 (ASM, Traffic Assistant) CBT 1 & CBT 2 will be followed by aptitude test.
Computer Based Test (CBT- 1) Exam Pattern:
Exam Type- Objective
Total Questions- 100
Total Time- 90 minutes
Subjects Included- Reasoning (25%), Arithmetic (25%), General Awareness & Science (50%)
NOTE: There will be one- third marks deducted for each wrong answer
Computer Based Test (CBT- 2) Exam Pattern:
Exam Type- Objective
Total Questions- 100
Subjects Included- Reasoning (30%), Arithmetic (30%), General Awareness & Science (40%)
Exam Syllabus: The details of exam topics are-
General Awareness: In this section candidates are tested on their awareness & the society around them. Question will be designed about the various social events on going in world, sports, national awards etc. The current events which are occurring are also part of syllabus.
General Intelligence & Reasoning: Questions would be asked from both verbal and non-verbal type can include analogies, similarities & differences, discrimination, relationships, arithmetical reasoning, figural classification, space visualization, decision making, visual memory, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, semantic Analogy, Number Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, symbolic Operations, Trends, Number Classification, venn Diagrams, folding & unfolding, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence.
Arithmetic: Number system, Fractions, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, whole numbers, decimals, Mixture & Allegation, Time & distance, Time & Work, Profit & Loss, Discount, tangents, Heights & Distances, graphs & charts, surface areas & volumes of different shapes, basic algebraic identities, Graphs of Linear Equations, Trigonometric ratio, probability, permutation & combination, statistics, problem on trains
In Typing Test: It will be conducted only on the condition that the candidates who are eligible for typing test are 8 times the no. of vacancies. 30 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in hindi are to be typed on computer.
In Aptitude Test, the basic questions will be asked in exam for which the candidates should be prepared in a best known way.
IN Document Verification, after 70% for CBT + 30% Aptitude test merit list the candidates will be called for verification of documents.
