PGVCL Syllabus for Vidyut Sahayak/Jr Assistant With Paper Scheme/Pattern

Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited PGVCL Written exam is being held for the Vidyut Sahayak or Junior Assistant. There are many applicants for the examination and all have to prepare for the exam. PGVCL Syllabus & Exam Pattern is mentioned below. PGVCL Junior Assistant Paper Scheme & Syllabus is important thing as the knowledge of the different sections is mandatory. As per the sllabus, read the topics well for the exam.

PGVCL Exam Pattern: Written Test will be objective type paper in which there will be-

  • 60% Objective Type Questions
  • 40% Descriptive Type Questions

The subject along with their weightage in exam-

  • General Knowledge- 20%
  • English Language- 20%
  • Maths & General Science- 20%
  • Analytical & Logical Reasoning- 20%
  • Computer Knowledge- 20%

Exam Syllabus: The syllabus for different sections of the exam are-

General Knowledge: The exam paper will contain the questions from topics- Himachal Pradesh (History, Geography and Socio- Economic development), scientific aspects, Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Geography of India, Indian Economy, National and International importance events which are current, every day observation and experience based questions

Computer Knowledge: The basic knowledge of computers is necessary and so the questions are asked from- Computer Fundamentals, Internet usage basics, MS-Windows, MS-Office (Word Processing (MS-Word), Spread Sheet (MS-Excel), Presentation Knowledge (MS-Power Point), MS Access)

English Language: Some basic questions of English language will be asked from topics such as- Spot the Errors, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage, Spellings, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences

Maths & General Science: The questions will be asked from the subjects- Physics, Chemistry Mathematics

Physics: Motion and energy, Electricity and magnetism, electronics & communications, Heat, Light and sound, Atomic and Nuclear physics, Astronomy and space science, Physical quantities, standards and units, Force, Universe, General Scientific Laws, Science glossary, Mechanics and properties of matter,  Scientific Instruments, Inventions and discoveries, National Scientific laboratories

Chemistry: Fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides-Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Electrochemistry, Polymers and plastics, Oxidation and reduction, Chemistry of Ores and Metals, Carbon, nitrogen and their compounds, Elements and Compounds, Acids, bases and salts

Mathematics : Number Systems, Simplification, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss and related topics

Analytical & Logical Reasoning: Analogues, similarities and differences, visual memory, discrimination observation, relationship concept, figure classification, arithmetical number series, verbal and non-verbal series, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making. Basically the questions are asked from both verbal & non- verbal type and so the preparations are to be done accordingly.
