Odisha PSC Syllabus For Civil Judge & Paper Scheme Preliminary & Mains

Odisha PSC Civil Judge Exam Selection criteria includes Preliminary Exam, mains Exam, personality Test. The details for each are mentioned below one by one based on which the candidates need to prepare themselves. The candidates should prepare for section well so that you can beat up the competition.

For Preliminary Exam– This is a screening test only for mains exam; the marks obtained in Prelims paper will not be carried forward.

Exam Pattern: Paper 1 (General Studies) of 200 marks & Paper 2 (General Studies) of 200 marks. There will be 2 hours given for the objective paper.

Exam Syllabus:

Paper 1- Current affairs, history of India & World, geography, political system of India, general science etc.

Paper 2- This paper will include the questions from unseen passages, communicational skills, logical reasoning, Basic English language, charts & graphs, problem solving techniques etc.

NOTE: 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Mains Exam: Based on honors degree, there will be optional subjects from which the candidates can select the ones they are comfortable with.

Exam Pattern: The compulsory subjects’ are-

Paper 6, 7, 8, 9 will consist of 2 optional subjects (1subject*2 papers) which are total of 1200 marks.

Exam Syllabus:

For Paper 1 & 2- Comprehension (30 marks), precis writing (40 marks), translation from odia to English and vice versa (30 marks), grammar (80 marks), short essay (100 marks), idea expansion (20 marks)

For Paper 3- On 1 topic essay has to be written from the list of topics given.

For Paper 4- History, Geography, political system, current affairs, legal issues, environment related queries

For Paper 5- India’s relation with foreign countries, Indian economy, international affairs, science & technology, Statistical issues

For Interview– 250 marks interview is conducted in which the questions are based on general concerns.
