Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts the examination so as to recruit the best candidates for the post they have applied. The exam for the post of Assistant Agriculture Officer (AAO)  is being organized in which all the applicants are applicable. Only best ones are selected who give the best performance in exam. MPSC AAO Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Exam Pattern: A written test which is multiple choice paper or objective type exam is a part of the selection procedure.

  • Total Questions in paper- 200 questions
  • Total Marks Obtained- 300 marks
  • Total Time: 3 hours

After the exam, interview is being conducted of 40 marks.

Exam Syllabus: The details of syllabus for each section is-

  1. General Studies- In this section, there are total of 50 questions seen in exam paper. The questions are from topics-
  • General Science Topics such as basic scientific aspects and everyday observations
  • History of India and Indian National Movement
  • Geography- Indian and World
  • General Mental Ability
  • Current Affairs
  • Important Dates
  • Social, Economic and Political aspects

2. Agriculture- In this section, there are 150 Multiple Choice questions which will include the topics-

  • Basis ideas on soil survey and classification
  • Soils of Rajasthan
  • Objectives and methods of plant breeding (Heterosis mutations, gene concept, plant water relationship, seed production, Mendel’s laws of inheritance, seed testing, type of seeds)
  • Soil formation and profile development
  • Physical properties of soils with all fertilizers and minerals importance
  • Olericulture which includes Classification of vegetables, nursery, transplantation, seed testing and storage, cultivation practice of fruits & vegetables
  • Pomology which includes layout of orchards, cultivation of fruits
  • Dry land agriculture- all features, aspects, advantages, disadvantages
  • Agro-climatology elements and effect on plant growth and farming systems
  • Seed quality & certification
  • Agronomy of important crops
  • Soil and water conservation
  • Soil productivity fertility and management of problematic soils, organic manures, fertilizers and their use efficiency, Soils organic matter
  • Irrigation and its complete role in farming
