Indian Bank PO Syllabus 2019
Indian Bank conducts several exams for different positions and there is a defined selection process for each. For Probationary Officer, the selection process includes Preliminary Exam, Mains exam and interview round. Details of each section are given below.
Indian Bank PO 2019 Exam Pattern: For Preliminary Exam–
Number of questions: 100
Total marks: 100 marks
Subject Included:
- Reasoning it will be of 35marks
- English Language it will be of 30 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude it will be of 35 marks
Time Duration for Screening Test: 1 Hour
For Mains Exam-
Exam mode: Online Written exam
Total Marks: 200 marks
Time Duration: 02:00 hours
Subject Included:
- Reasoning it will be of 50 marks
- English Language it will be of 40 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude it will be of 50 marks
- General Awareness(with special reference to Banking) it will be of 40 marks
- Computer Awareness it will be of 20 marks
Followed by objective test, will be a descriptive Test of English language (2 Questions) of 50 marks and total time given will be 30 minutes
It will be in English Language (Letter writing and Essay) which will be of 50 marks.
NOTE: For every wrong answer one- fourth of the mark will be deducted from the mark assigned to that questions
Followed by exam will be interview round for shortlisted candidates which will be of 100 marks. The cut off marks for this section is 40% but it is 35% for SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC

Reasoning: Decision making , Focus on Comprehension Reasoning, Venn Diagrams, Coding and de-coding, Problem Solving Techniques, number series, Statement & Conclusion type questions, arithmetic reasoning, input and output, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, syllogistic reasoning, Seating Arrangements, Logical Reasoning, non- verbal series
English Language: Sentence arrangements/ word arrangements, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Error, Sentence correction, fill in the blanks, Comprehension & Cloze test. Comprehension ( lengthy, difficult)
Quantitative Aptitude: Simplification, Number Series, simple & compound interest, Quadratic Equations Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages, Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Main focus should be on Data Interpretation.
General Awareness: Indian Current Events, Banking, general knowledge, General Science, Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture & Banking Sector will be given priority.
Computer Awareness: Basic of Computers, Computer Organization, LAN, WAN Generations of computer, Input & Output Device, Shortcuts & Basic knowledge MS excel, MS word, MS power point, modem, Memory Orientation, Internet, Computer Abbreviations, Modern day Technology. Remember short cut Tricks of MS Word, MS Excel & Computer Abbreviations.
